【出处】《三十六计》第二十七计：宁伪作不知不为，不伪作假知妄为，静不露机，云雷^[1]屯^[2]也。

【成语故事】三国时期，刘备早有夺取天下的抱负，只是当时力量还太弱，根本无法与曹操对抗，而且当时他仍然受曹操控制。于是，刘备假装每天只是喝喝酒种种菜，不问天下之事。有一天，曹操故意请刘备喝酒，想试探试探他，刘备也是个聪明人，他知道曹操这次来是有目的的。但是，他的目的是什么呢？那天，两个人各自倒满酒，边聊边喝。喝着喝着，曹操就问起刘备“谁是天下英雄”的问题，刘备列举了几个名字，都被曹操给否定了。忽然，曹操说道：“天下的英雄，就只有我和你两个人！”这一句话，说得刘备惊慌失措，他深怕曹操猜出自己的政治抱负，吓得手中的筷子都掉到了地下。幸好这时，天上刚好打起了一阵阵响雷，刘备灵机一动，急忙找个借口说自己是被雷声吓着了，筷子才会掉到地上的。曹操见他这么说，大笑不止，心想：“这刘备也太没用了，一个大男人，还害怕打雷。看来，刘备根本成不了什么大事。”于是，他后来就对刘备放松了警惕。再后来，刘备渐渐摆脱了曹操的控制，终于干出自己的一番事业。

【寓意】该成语原意是指为隐藏某种行为、目的等假装呆傻疯癫，而实际上很正常，以欺骗他人。现喻指运用智慧，通过伪装假扮，使得外表看似愚钝痴呆，而内心却十分清醒，以迷惑敌人或者对手，以期达到后发制人的目的。

【Idiomatic Story】 Both LIU Bei and CAO Cao were the most famous warlords in the Three Kingdoms period.LIU Bei was ambitious to unify the whole country but he was not strong enough to achieve his goal in the early years，because he was still under the control of powerful CAO Cao to some extent，let alone defeating him.Under such circumstance，LIU Bei had to live an idle life and pretended to have no interest in the political affairs.

One day，CAO Cao invited LIU Bei to a banquet because he wanted to fish for some information from LIU Bei.LIU Bei clearly knew the intention of CAO Cao，but he agreed to attend the banquet without any reluctance.They cheerfully chatted while drinking at the banquet.CAO Cao asked LIU Bei，“Who should be the most ambitious person now?” LIU Bei numbered the names of some well-known ones，but he was disapproved.CAO Cao said，“ The most ambitious persons are at present，only two，you and me.”LIU Bei was shocked by what CAO Cao said.He worried that CAO Cao had detected his political ambition.He was so scared that the chopsticks fell down from his hand.Fortunately，it thundered heavily in the sky.LIU Bei cleverly took it as an excuse for the falling of chopsticks to cover the truth.CAO Cao thought he was frightened by the thunder and could not help going off into loud laughter.He said to himself，“LIU Bei is such a timid person.He will be a never-do-well.”

From then on，CAO Cao lowered his guard against LIU Bei.Some years later，LIU Bei managed to get away from the control of CAO Cao，and finally founded his own kingdom—the Shu Kingdom.The situation of the Three Kingdoms had formed in the history of China.
